Nepal Sanskrit University was established in December 1986 which central office is in Dang District. The university was established for following purpose.
1) Systematize sanskrit education to the highest level in the country.
2) Preserve and promote sanskrit education in different sector of Nepalese societies.
3) To develop the Kingdom of Nepal into a center for learning through sanskrit education.
It also offers degree and non degree research works based on sanskrit. It also organize training program on Vedic and Buddhist teaching and Yoga training.
University is offering a course in Ayurveda Medical science for graduate students. The University conduct research works in diverse filed and discipline. It also facilitate scholars who pursue Ph.D degree in various field.
