Oldest University in Nepal
Tribhuwan University is the Oldest university in Nepal. The University is the Public University located at Kirtipur Kathmandu. The University was established in 1959. The University offers more than 4400 courses Through Intermediate, Graduate, Postgraduate programs. The University has 85 integral college and more than 600 affiliated college throughout the Country. Since it is the Government University, it is less costly than other Private University in Nepal. Tribhuwan University has its central library at kirtipur. The Library contains 350000 volume of books. 450 title of periodicals are received every year as a gift.
Tribhuvan University also has a international cricket ground.

Students life in Kathmandu University
Kathmandu University has several hostel. One for boys where 200 students can be accommodated. Another for Girls where 163 students can be accommodated. Each hostel is secured by guards and it provides hot water, canteen, exercise machine, television and sports ground.
All the rooms of the hostel are well furnished. International students are provided single accommodation at the guest house on the University premise.
The Kathmandu University had well established canteen facility with in the university area. Students at central campus operates their hostel mess in cooperative basis.
